ORAL-AI: High Efficacy Content Representation and User Engagement of Oral Digital Collections with Multimodal LLMs
The University of North Texas, in collaboration with the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, seeks $490,397 for a 3-year Applied Research grant project that aims to expand meaningful public access to large-scale oral history collections by developing and evaluating a responsible, privacy-aware multimodal AI framework that supports cross-modal semantic retrieval, evidence-grounded question answering, and contextual narrative summarization.
ALiT: AI Platform for Librarian Lifelong Training
The University of North Texas (UNT) College of Information, in partnership with the Amigos Library Services, requests $382,268 for a three-year workforce development project. This project will provide a scalable solution to
enhance the skills, confidence, and resilience of public librarians. It will create an innovative framework for the training and professional development of the library workforce by leveraging generative AI to simulate complex service encounters.
TRACE-CT: Teacher-Researcher Co-Design of Adaptive GenAI for Computational Thinking
TRACE-CT is an NSF research experience for teachers (RET) program at the University of North Texas (UNT) that empowers high school teachers in AI research and education via co-designing next-generation AI applications. Participants will collaborate with faculty mentors on Generative AI and computational thinking research while gaining hands-on experience, professional development, and classroom-ready AI curriculum materials.
